FAQs
How do I book a test?
Please email or call to discuss your requirements. We focus on schools, but are more than happy to offer testing to individuals in Oxford or nearby.
What tests do you offer?
We offer RT-PCR testing as well as antigen testing (lateral flow tests).
RT-PCR remains the gold standard in testing for coronavirus (being the most sensitive and accurate test for the presence of the virus).
Lateral flow tests give a result within 15minutes and also come with an official certificate.
Where will the test be taken?
We will come to you.
All our testing is done through our mobile medical team, on site at your school or boarding house, or at your home or work place.
Please note: Day2/8 tests are self-swab tests, delivered to your quarantine address.
Follow the included instructions and return via Royal Mail Tracked 24, using an enclosed postage paid envelope.
Do I need to prepare before I take my test?
Please make sure you don’t eat, chew gum or brush your teeth at least 20 minutes before your mouth swab sample is taken. Doing this can inhibit the PCR which may result in needing a retest and therefore, delay your result.
It is also a good idea to have tissues at hand, as well as a glass or bottle of water.
When and how will I receive my results?
Your sample will be couriered to the lab on the day of the testing and results are back the next day (this includes testing on Friday with results being sent on Saturday). In the unlikely event that your sample requires retesting, this may delay the delivery of your result, but a next day result is still highly likely.
You will receive your test result by email, together with an interpretation of the result and the relevant medical advice.
Please note: Day2/8 tests are self-swab test, to be returned via Royal Mail Tracked 24, using an enclosed postage paid envelope. Again, you will receive your result via email.
I’m due to fly/travel – will I need a test and if so, when should I book it for?
Requirements for ‘fit-to-fly/travel’ are different for different countries. Most countries require a PCR test taken no longer than 72 hours before travelling, but there are exceptions to this timeline as well as test requirements. Some countries do not require any pre-travel test, while others like China also require an IGM antibody test in addition. Please check your destination’s entry requirements through the relevant official channels (destination government website, airline).
We recommend checking the UK government website for current advice on foreign travel https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice.
Does buying this test impact the general supply of test kits?
No, we guarantee that any purchase of testing through us does not impact in any way on the ability of NHS workers or anyone else to get tested for coronavirus.
